The Prairie Textile Arts Guild met at 9:30 am on October 19, 2002 in the meeting room at Marillac Manor.

˜The meeting was called to order by President Kay Miller.

˜Fourteen members and no guests were present.

˜The minutes of the September, 2002 meeting were approved as corrected.  The spelling of Clark was changed from Clarke to Clark.

 Reports of officers and standing committees:

"Treasurer (Jan Dralle) :

˜ Jan reported the balance in the treasury to be $669.26.  A copy of the financial report from last year was passed out.  Members are reminded that dues of $20 are now due

"Program (Krista Andrews and LaRue Odenbach):

˜ LaRue gave members an overview of the programs for the remaining year.

    "Publicity (Elaine DeBilzan) :

˜Elaine showed members the new brochure.  The purpose of PTAG was included on the front cover.  Elaine said the club would be able to have 500 copies printed by Flash Printing at a cost of $35.  Contact names on the brochure include Kay Miller and Elaine.  Becky Quanrud agreed to proofread the brochure before printing. Becky moved to approve the printing of the brochure (500 copies at $35) after the proofreading. Deb Arnold seconded the motion.  It passed.

Unfinished Business:


New Business:    

˜      LaRue moved to have Karen Oby check on a workshop to be presented by Jean Mann on her Fall Brazilian Embroidery piece.  The workshop would be in the spring.  The motion was seconded by Elaine and passed.

˜      Becky suggested that we have a separate bring and brag table so pieces could be displayed without having to be passed around.  This would prevent unnecessary handling.  Members thought it was a good idea. 


˜      Deb Arnold told members there was a booksale at Gateway Mall. 

˜      Ben Franklin in Arrowhead Mall is having an Open House on November 10.


˜The programs on ”your favorite fabric to stitch” and a silent auction were presented by members.

˜Jan Dralle and Karen Oby  provided the treats.

˜Bring and Brag was held.
