The Prairie Textile Arts Guild met at 9:30 am on March 13, 2004 in the meeting room at Marillac Manor.
The meeting was called to order by Acting President Jan Dralle.
18 members and 1 guest were present.
The minutes of the February 14, 2004 meeting were approved as printed/corrected. Motion was made by LaRue Odenbach, seconded by Deb Long.

Reports of officers and standing committees:

 

Treasurer (Jan Dralle) Jan reported the checking account balance was $733/02. She also reported that we have a new member, Larissa Harrison.
 

Historian (Mary Beth Osborn): Mary Beth reported she has all the Historian Books and they look good.

 
Hospitality (Kaye and Elise Halvorson):
 
Program (Sandie Brewster and Lynn McCulley): Program for April will be non-stitch presented by Mary Ellen Hoetzler.
 
Publicity (Elaine DeBilzan):

Nominating Committee Report - given by LaRue Odenbach. Slate of Officers for the next year are as follows: President - Lynn McCully, Secretary - Arlene Olson, Treasurer - Jan Dralle, Hostesses - Elise and Kay Halvorson, Historian - Michelle Ripplinger, Program - Deb Long and Alice Coats, Publicity - Karen Oby.


Unfinished Business:
Silent Auction - A show of hands of the members indicated that they were in favor of having a silent auction at our April meeting. Watch the web for more information regarding this.
 
Jan Dralle called the Marillac manor in regard to the rent for the meeting room. She was told it would stay the same.

Announcements:
Urban Girl Bead Ship in Mandan is a new shop. They have a web page - urbangirlonline.com. Check there for information on what they have to offer for classes, etc.
 
March 20 th the Capital Quilters are holding a National Quilting Day at the Heritage Center.
 
Embroidery Guild of America - They are having seminars in October in Minneapolis. ?? has a catalog regarding the classes for anyone to look at.

The program on silk embroidery was presented by Karla Whitty.

Stitch of the month- buttonhole or blanket stitch was given by Jan Dralle.

The speaker's gift was made by Mary Beth Osborn.
Krista Andrews provided the treats.
Bring and Brag was held.
The meeting was adjourned
