The Prairie Textile Arts Guild met at 9:30 am on January 8, 2005 in the meeting room at Marillac Manor.

The meeting was called to order by President Lynn McCulley.

19 members and no guests were present.

The minutes of the Nov. & Dec. , 2004 meeting were read. A motion was made by Karen Oby to approve the Nov. minutes, 2nd by Deb Arnold, motion carried. A motion was made by Michelle Collins to approve the Dec. minutes, 2nd by Carol Kapsner, motion carried.

Reports of officers and standing committees:

Treasurer (Jan Dralle): Jan reported a balance in the checking account of $1052.98.

Historian (Michelle Ripplinger):  Michelle brought pictures of our Christmas party for the Historian book.

Hospitality (Kaye and Elise Halvorson):  None

Program (Deb Long and Alice Coats): Alice reported the programs for the next three months are as follows. February - Larissa Harrison will do a program on Crochet Rugs, March - Amy Roleau will do a program on Beading, April - Alice Coats will do a program on Color Crayon on Textile. ˜

Publicity (Karen Oby): None

Unfinished Business:

bulletCanvas Workshop - Carol Kapsner brought 4 color choices for our project. Members are to sign up with their color choice and if they need a stretcher bar. Deposit will be $30.00.

bulletLaRue Odenbach brought a brochure from Joanne's Fabrics showing Ott lamps at half price.
bulletDebbie Long informed us she will be teaching Beginning Crochet classes at Hancock Fabrics the first through third Wednesdays in February from 6-8 pm.
bulletLynn McCulley received and email from Sandy Brewster. She told us that Sandy wanted to be a long distance member. She likes it real well in Wisconsin.
bulletMichelle Ripplinger informed us there will be a Quilt Show at the Mandan Community Center next weekend, January 15 & 16. Hours are 3 to 9 on Friday and 9 to 5 on Saturday.
bulletLynn McCulley reported that Debbie Long and Arlene Olson will be hostesses and Karen Oby will be the gift presenter for our February meeting.
bulletALice Coats announced that she will be teaching Beginning Quilting in February at Bismarck State College.
bulletKaren Oby said there is a beading show on Prairie Public TV on Saturdays at 1:30 pm.
bulletLarrisa Harrison informed us there will be an "Art in Motion" show at Kirkwood Mall, Febraury 5 from 10 am to 4 pm. The membership was interested in having a booth at this show. Lynn McCulley will check to see if we can still participate. Larrisa Harrison is the chairperson and a number of our members volunteered to work in the booth.

The program on Lace Up a Frame was presented by Jan Dralle.

The speaker’s gift was made by Arlene Olson.

Alice Coats and Michelle Ripplinger provided the treats.

Bring and Brag was held.
